The Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization is hosting an Advanced Science Course, “Around the Globe and Around the Clock: The Science and Technology of the CTBT” from November 12-23 at the Vienna International Centre. The course is also available online and free of charge.
The course will take an in-depth look at the science behind the verification technologies of the CTBT, as well as the conduct of on-site inspections to verify compliance with the nuclear test ban.
Special guest speakers will include Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan of Jordan, HE Linton Brooks, former Ambassador and former Secretary of Energy for Nuclear Security and Administrator of the NNSA, HE Wendy Watson-Wright, Assistant Secretary General and Executive Director, UNESCO International Oceanographic Commission, Professor Paul G Richards, Special Research Scientist, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University, W Lee Howell, Managing Director, World Economic Forum, and Elisabeth Blanc, Director of Research, French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).
